Jonas specialises in combining a clear architectural conception with innovative structural and construction techniques, and previously worked alongside Prof Mirko Baum of Institute for Structural Architecture, RWTH-Aachen.
Jonas's work at dRMM has focused on new housing typologies, particularly for apartment buildings. He was responsible for the design development and delivery of dRMM's Wansey Street Housing project, a competition win which forms the 'pilot' for the redevelopment of Elephant and Castle, London. The Wansey Street scheme has been cited as raising the standard for UK RSL housing, with its bold design and unique invisible mixture of tenure types and social integration. As a result of this project dRMM were awarded BD Public Housing Architect of the Year, 2006. Jonas continues to work with London Borough of Southwark's Elephant & Castle Regeneration, developing the design for housing at Harper Square.
Currently Jonas is leading the project team for the Stratford City North residential scheme, part of the masterplan that will provide the Athletes' Village for the 2012 London Olympics.
